Stephanie Hadcock, Why I Care Member Recipient

For Stephanie Hadcock volunteering has always been part of who she is. From a young age her parents showed her how giving time can have a huge impact on the lives of others and taught her that even if you don’t have money to give, your time is just as valuable.

As a high school student she participated in many volunteer activities and remembers a time during the holiday season when she realized some of the very kids she was going to school with were struggling to afford groceries and clothes. Since then she has been writing her own volunteer story.

Stephanie says some of her favorite volunteer moments are when she can interact with the individuals she’s helping and enjoys getting to know more about the lives of people in our community. She remembers spending a day at STRIDE Adaptive Sports and had the opportunity to interact with participants in the Wounded Warrior program. Hearing their personal stories and the role STRIDE has played in their lives was incredibly meaningful for her.

Today, Stephanie generously gives her time to a number of organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, and the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY, among others.
